The 2024 US Open is not just about tennis anymore. In a groundbreaking announcement, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center revealed the creation of the Advantage Arena Gaming Zone at the Chase Center. This gaming zone will feature 13 playable stations, offering a unique arcade experience for fans of all ages.
Could we see top tennis players like Naomi Osaka or Daniil Medvedev, who are known to be fans of Fortnite and other games, make an appearance at the gaming zone during the tournament?
The Advantage Arena Gaming Zone will make its debut during the US Open’s Fan Week, which is scheduled to take place from August 19th to 25th. Fans in attendance can look forward to playing tennis-themed versions of popular games like Fortnite and Roblox, as well as classics like TopSpin 2K25 and Tennis Clash.
Brian Ryerson, the USTA Head of Product and User Experience, expressed his excitement about the new gaming initiative, stating, “It’s incredibly exciting for us to connect our growing presence in the gaming space with the on-site fan experience at the US Open.”
The gaming zone will not only provide entertainment for fans, but also the opportunity to win over 3,500 prizes. These prizes include free copies of TopSpin 2K25 Standard Edition, a total of over 600,000 in-game redeemables on Roblox, and other unique unlockables within Tennis Clash.
Ryerson further emphasized the importance of reaching new fans through this gaming collaboration, saying, “Not only are we reaching more fans by collaborating with some of the most popular gaming titles in the world, the ‘Advantage Arena’ gives our fans on-site a number of new, fun ways to engage with tennis, while also potentially drawing new fans to the US Open.”
With the integration of gaming into the US Open experience, it is clear that the tournament is evolving to reach a wider audience and offer an innovative fan experience. Get ready to game and watch some world-class tennis at the 2024 US Open!
