In the world of motor racing, a new and groundbreaking competition has emerged – the E1 Series, a revolutionary all-electric raceboat series that is putting sustainable electric watercraft at the forefront. With nine teams vying for the top spot, these boats are powered solely by batteries and electric motors, reaching speeds of up to 50 knots (25.8 mph). Each boat, constructed with a carbon fiber chassis, weighs 800 kg (1763.7 lbs) and is operated by a single driver.
Among the team owners are a star-studded lineup, including NFL legend Tom Brady, Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez, tennis ace Rafael Nadal, former soccer player Didier Drogba, singer Marc Anthony, DJ Steve Aoki, and actor Will Smith.
The next race is scheduled to take place on Lake Como in Italy, with anticipation building as Rafael Nadal and Will Smith are expected to attend. Smith’s team, “Westbrook Racing,” currently sits in third place, a position that has stirred up some competitive spirit in the actor. Smith, determined to make a statement, took to Instagram to send a message to Brady, stating, “I’m gonna put an end to that foolishness,” in reference to Brady’s team winning three out of four races.
In response, Brady fired back on Instagram, saying, “I’m the one working now,” highlighting his commitment to his upcoming role as a football analyst for FOX. The banter between the two team owners adds an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
While the team owners do not directly compete on the water, their presence at the races can serve as a significant motivator for their drivers. As tomorrow’s race looms, the competition heats up with Nadal’s team clocking the second-fastest time in qualifications, trailing behind Brady’s team and ahead of “Team Miami” and Smith’s “Westbrook Racing” in fourth place.
As the E1 Series standings shape up, Tom Brady’s team continues to dominate, clinching the fastest times in qualifications. With three victories under their belt in Jeddah, Venice, and Monaco, Brady’s team leads the pack. In second place is Marc Anthony’s “Team Miami,” with a win in Puerto Banús, Spain, followed by Will Smith’s “Westbrook Racing” in third place. Team Drogba and Team Rafa round out the top five positions, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown in the upcoming races.
